Mickey’s

Mickey's Dining Car in Saint Paul

Raven & I (along with miscellaneous family members from out-of-town) ate at Mickey's Diner last night. We live ridiculously close (Yahoo says it's 1.0 miles), it's open 24 hours, and is reasonably priced, which makes me wonder why we hardly go there. Of course, it's very small, and at the times when we would tend to go there, there are other people there. Now don't get me wrong. People-watching is all well and good, but People-Interacting can be, well, unnerving.

Where is that place? I don't think I've ever seen it before...it's not off of 494 down near Toys R Us, is it? Wait, maybe I'm thinking of that other diner - sheesh, I've lived in Minnesota for four years now, you'd think I'd get a clue.

Hey! Maybe I should put up a link!

Don't feel bad, even after four years most people don't know about the closely guarded secrets of St. Paul. It's on W 7th Street. It's right by the Children's Musuem which is why the miscellaneous family know about it.

Well, there is the other Mickey's diner...isn't it off of 5? (GSeven, you know where it is more than I do) It's not the original, but it's still cool. That, and you don't smell like Mickey's dining like you do when you leave the car...

*sheepish* Sorry - didn't notice the link before because I am, how you say, an idiot.

Natalie:
err...no...it wasn't there before...I the idiot...

Raven:
Ya, there is that other Mickey's....it's on W 7th Street too but closer to Hwy 5...but I don't think it's been in any movies or anything...

Nice crisp pic of Mickey's...good job. There used to be another one 3 or 4 blocks north of Univ on Snelling..but it was just an ordinary place like the one on 7th. I'd never heard of the "Where's George" thing 'til I got one of your bills. Think I'll get a stamp made & start participating.

Mickey's Diner (the one downtown) has been in several movies including "Jingle All The Way" and "The Mighty Ducks." It's been in about 5 others but I can't remember the names, but it's printed on the back of their menu. If someone doesn't know where Mickey's is, there's the authentic one on the corner of 7th & St. Peter. The other one is on hwy 5.

Ironically, I didn't mention the movies because I didn't want to bring up the fact that I was an extra in D3: The Mighty Ducks. I thought that might sound like bragging. Oops! I guess I just mentioned it, huh?

I'll go give myself a timeout...
